#Happens 2020 Updated Schedule Is Released

Caroline Rose has announced her new album “Superstar” will be out on March 6th. The lead single, “Feel The Way I Want” was filmed on her iPhone on a trip from Hollywood, Florida to Hollywood, California. Rose said, "I realized at some point that I’m not going to fit into any one box, and maybe that’s a good thing. This record is me embracing being an outsider making my own path." Rose will begin a massive U.S. tour March 6th in Albany.

Declan McKenna will release his second album “Zeros” on May 15th on Tomplicated Records via Q Prime. When asked about the new album and lead single "Beautiful Faces," the 21-year-old English singer-songwriter McKenna explains, “In terms of my artistic development, it feels a major step on from my first record. With this album, if I’m performing as a character, I wanted it to give it everything - all the artists that I love like Dylan, Nick Cave or Bowie, are great storytellers because they give their characters really intense, sometimes strange voices. ‘Beautiful Faces’ is about young people in the modern world and how intimidating it can be. How scary it is to see so much and feel as though you’re doing so little, so I wanted it to be a big song… Scary big. It very much relates to now, but I wanted to reimagine social media in this future-sphere where it has become even more immersive so that we cannot see where it ends, and we begin. It’s a song about aesthetic beauty – literal beauty- but also the false power we give to people and relinquish from ourselves.”

“Disaster Party” is the new single from Magic Giant inspired by the L.A. fires. Magic Giant's Austin Bisnow said, “The band was out in the valley recording at a studio that almost got consumed by flames. The neighborhood got together and created their own mini force and fought the fire themselves when needed.  When everyone was gathered at the center before evacuation, it was the first time some neighbors who absolutely lived within a few houses of each other for years ever shared a word. The energy in the air wasn’t static. It was electric. For the first time it was not a neighborhood but a community. That kind of meeting, those real words exchanged, are a Disaster Party.” Magic Giant are out now on a co-headline tour with American Authors.

The emerging indie artist Taylor Janzen recently put out her  track, "What I Do..." It is the first single for the Winnipeg artist for Glassnote. “’What I Do’ is a song I wrote about being in a serious relationship and suddenly realizing that your issues are affecting someone else for the first time, and not entirely knowing how to change that. Musically, it’s a bit of a departure from my previous songs, so for the music video we decided to show how one artist can explore many different forms as that’s always something that should be celebrated. Asking someone to define their genre is like asking someone what their high school clique was, entirely outdated and a little dumb. So that’s exactly what we decided to show in the video." Janzen will be coming to the U.S. this Spring where she will be heading out on SiriusXM Alt Nation’s Advance Placement Tour.
